| Die Idee entstand, weil Philipp, mein Neffe und Vizepräsident, diese Idee 2015 zwischen Guatemala und Österreich aufbauen wollte und ich ihn dabei unterstützt habe. Er hat 2013/2014 seinen Zivildienst absolviert. Der österreichische Staat hat dies ermöglicht, und das ist auch gut so. Wir, das heißt NADEUM, hatten bereits Kontakt mit der österreichischen deutschsprachigen Schule und einer deutschen Privatschule in Guatemala aufgenommen. Doch leider hatte das Militär geputscht. Die Sicherheit der Schülerinnen und Schüler war nicht länger gewährleistet. Das Projekt wurde zunächst auf Eis gelegt. | The idea came about because Philipp, my nephew and vice president, wanted to set up this idea between Guatemala and Austria in 2015 and I supported him in doing so. He completed his community service in 2013/2014. The Austrian state made this possible, and that’s a good thing. We, that is NADEUM, had already established contact with the Austrian German-speaking school and a German private school in Guatemala. Unfortunately, however, the military had staged a coup. The safety of the students could no longer be guaranteed. The project was put on hold for the time being. |
| Unser COO aus Nigeria fand Philipps Idee großartig. Er sagte, wir könnten das zwischen den Staaten Afrikas, speziell Nigeria, und Europa, speziell Österreich, initiieren. Er hat uns Afrika nähergebracht. Die Art und Weise, wie die meisten Afrikaner an die Dinge herangehen, ist ganz anders als bei uns Europäern. Ich bin überzeugt, dass auch unsere Vorfahren daran nicht unschuldig sind. Und auch die ganzen Hilfsorganisationen! Die Afrikaner glauben fest daran, dass wir geben müssen. Das war jedenfalls die allgemeine Meinung, bis zur Pandemie. Eigeninitiative findet nur statt, wenn sie von niemandem unterstützt wird. Das ist keine Pauschalaussage, sondern unsere persönliche Erfahrung. Auch der Zeitbegriff, wann man sich trifft, ist dehnbar, aber das ist kein Problem. Aber natürlich gibt es auch in Afrika viele Menschen, die hervorragende Arbeit leisten. Diese kulturellen Unterschiede sollten uns nicht trennen, sondern dazu ermutigen, uns besser kennenzulernen und voneinander zu lernen. Um mit gegenseitigen Missverständnissen und Unterschieden im Alltag besser umgehen zu können, müssen wir diese akzeptieren und lernen, damit umzugehen. Die Zukunft gehört uns beiden! Afrika wie Europa – und zwar genauso! | Our COO from Nigeria thought Philipp’s idea was great. Unser Ziel ist es, den Jugendlichen beider Länder neue Perspektiven und Kulturen durch eine angemessene, sichere und leistbare Unterbringung näherzubringen. | In 2017, we developed the idea of a mutual exchange semester for students aged 16 and up between Nigeria and Austria. | Bedauerlicherweise spielte die Politik, wie so oft in den letzten Jahren des 21. Jahrhunderts, nicht mit. Unsere Erwartungen waren zu hoch und zu naiv. Wir mussten erkennen, dass eine Schulklasse, die mit ihren Lehrern einen einwöchigen Schullandheimaufenthalt auf Zypern absolvierte, das Unternehmen zum sofortigen Abbruch führte. Die Schüler waren unzufrieden oder übermütig und wussten nicht, was sie durch ihre Postings im Internet anrichten können. | Unfortunately, as so often in the last years of the 21st century, politics did not play along. Our expectations were too high and too naive. We had to realise that a school class that went on a one-week school trip to Cyprus with their teachers led the company to an immediate termination. | Im August 2018 haben wir eine außerordentliche Vorstandssitzung in der Hermesvilla im Lainzer Tierpark einberufen. Mein damaliger Kassier sowie der damalige Schriftführer sahen für sich keine Perspektive im NADEUM. So trennten sich unsere Wege und NADEUM brauchte dringend einen Schriftführer oder eine Schriftführerin. | In August 2018, we convened an extraordinary board meeting at the Hermesvilla in the Lainzer Tierpark. | Im Jahr 2019 mussten wir leider feststellen, dass einige Projekte innerhalb von NADEUM nicht weiter verfolgt werden können. Die Idee, die Kurdinnen und Kurden ins Boot zu holen, scheiterte am Unwillen der Kurdinnen und Kurden selbst. Wir hatten Ideen, bei denen die verantwortlichen Kurdinnen und Kurden in Wien wohl eher glaubten, wir könnten ihnen nicht helfen. Das war ein Irrtum. Ich, GJSch, Präsident von NADEUM, war überzeugt, dass wir den Kindern in Kobane mit freiwilligen Lehrern aus Kobane in neu zu errichtenden Volksschulen helfen konnten. Unser Generalsekretär hat seine Verbindungen zur UNO genutzt. Wir hätten dafür Hilfsgelder bekommen. | In 2019, we unfortunately had to realise that some projects within NADEUM could not be continued. The idea of getting the Kurds on board failed due to the unwillingness of the Kurds themselves. | Bedauerlicherweise hat sich die Lage in Syrien und in der nördlichen Provinz “Rojava” derart zugespitzt, dass eine Weiterarbeit nicht länger möglich war. Der IS-Staat stellte eine außerordentliche Herausforderung für das Bündnis dar, der wir uns mit ganzer Kraft gestellt haben. Unsere Erkenntnis ist, dass die Kurden sich von der Allianz einen eigenen Staat erhofft hatten und leider, wie so oft in der Vergangenheit, nach getaner Arbeit schlichtweg betrogen wurden. Heute gibt es die ARK im Irak (Autonome Region Kurdistan). | We would have received aid money for this. Leider dachten viele Staaten, dass es sie nicht betreffen würde. In China hatte sich eine Krankheit ausgebreitet, die China zunächst glaubte, selbst bekämpfen zu können. In dieser Zeit sind die USA aus der WHO ausgetreten und China hat sich mit höheren Zuwendungen den Ton gebenden Einfluss verschafft. | Seither gewinnen die Konservativen, vor allem die Rechten, immer mehr an Boden. Denn viele Menschen sind mit den Ereignissen völlig überfordert. Anfang 2022 wird die Gefahr eines Krieges heraufbeschworen, was von vielen Verantwortlichen in der EU kategorisch geleugnet wird. Putin fühlt sich ermutigt und greift am 24. Februar 2022 die Ukraine an. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt ist eines klar: So wie es war, wird es nie wieder sein! Was tun wir, NADEUM? NADEUM und GAFÉIAS werden ihren Beitrag zu einer Zivilisation 1.0 leisten. | Since then, conservatives, especially on the right, have been on the rise. | Ende 2021 reifte bei NADEUM die Idee, das europäische Erfolgsmodell ERASMUS auch in Afrika bekannt zu machen. Im Gespräch mit einigen Studenten wurde NADEUM bewusst, dass ERASMUS von allen EU-Mitgliedsstaaten und der Wirtschaft immer mehr angenommen wird. In Deutschland gab es sogar ein Lehrlingsaustauschprogramm mit einigen afrikanischen Staaten. Nach anfänglichen Erfolgen machte sich bei unseren Nachbarn Ernüchterung breit. Viele afrikanische Eliten sahen in dem Programm eine Geldmaschine. Deutschland stoppte das Programm und stellte es schließlich ganz ein. Das war die Geburtsstunde von ERASMUS+. Im Jahr 2021 einigten sich fast alle EU-Mitgliedstaaten darauf, ERASMUS+ ins Leben zu rufen. Es entstand aus dem Langzeitprojekt ERASMUS, das es seit 1987 gab. Als ich mir dieses Projekt ansah, wurde mir klar, dass dieses Projekt auch in Afrika eine Zukunft hat. Durch Gespräche mit einigen Afrikanern wurde mir klar, dass durch dieses Projekt, afrikanische Handwerker an Wert gewinnen würden. Also nicht nur Studenten aller Geschlechter, sondern auch Fachhandwerker. Das Projekt P004 reifte Anfang 2022. ACAPMUSSC war geboren. | At the end of 2021, NADEUM came up with the idea of publicising the successful European ERASMUS model in Africa. When I looked at this project, I realised that this project also has a future in Africa. Through conversations with some Africans, I realised that this project would increase the value of African craftspeople. So not only students of all genders, but also skilled craftsmen. Kriege und gewalttätige Auseinandersetzungen in der gesamten Sahelzone, Klimakatastrophen aller Art, Überbevölkerung, Religionskriege, Machtzentren entstehen zum Vorteil einiger und zum Nachteil vieler. Europa, im Norden Afrikas gelegen, ist für viele ein begehrtes Ziel. Die kulturellen Unterschiede sind immens. Was Europa und auch die EU tun können, ist die Herausforderung unseres Jahrhunderts. Europa wird, wie wir es heute kennen, der Vergangenheit angehören. Wir werden ein Kontinent sein, der, wenn er die Stürme der massivsten Völkerwanderung überlebt, eine völlig andere Gesellschaftsstruktur haben wird. Wie auch immer die Zukunft aussehen mag, sie ist eine Herausforderung. | In 2023 and probably in the years thereafter, the massive migration of peoples in Africa will continue, with wars and violent conflicts throughout the Sahel region, climate catastrophes of all kinds, overpopulation, religious wars and centres of power emerging for the benefit of some and to the detriment of many.
